Shontae Alleyne-Clarke is ambitious and desirous of becoming an international singer.

This young, vibrant, and talented young artist in our community views the world as her oyster (which is the motto she lives by) and possesses the ability to achieve anything she desires.

Shontae is 16 years of age and a student of The Combermere Secondary School. She is a writer, a girl guide, and a member of the Barbados National Youth Steel Orchestra. She is also the president of the Combermere Student Council and under that umbrella, she was invited to Parliamentary proceedings to observe parliamentary meetings.

She adopted a Primary School student Council and started a Homework Club where students have a safe place to do homework at school. Shontae also held a panel discussion with young entrepreneurs in the school allowing them to ask questions and to engage in meaningful discussions regarding their future business ideas. Shontae, along with her executives, initiated various Charitable Initiatives: these are ‘Love Hampers for Valentines and Christmas Donations. These initiatives sought to assist some vulnerable persons within the school.

Shontae is an artiste as mentioned previously who is versatile with most genres having recorded singles in Calypso, Reggae and Soca. Shontae won the 6 to 12 category of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest in 2019. She placed second in Baje to the World Season 2 in 2022, she has also won the Scotiabank Junior Monarch in 2019 and 2022 and is currently the reigning Junior Soca Monarch for 2023 (reclaiming her year title from last).

This multi-talented young lady in our community has not only shown her passion and love for music and our culture but also for her community and school.
